Convento de Tepotzotlan

Oil on paper
2008

This is not finished yet. But now it's become dry and somewhat realistic, in a way I did not intend originally. This is my largest painting so far (54 x 34 cm).

Lots of of burnt umber, ocher, some red and burnt sienna. The first, "lean" layer, was a burnt sienna + titan rose mix, washed out with white and turps. I'm going to use it again on top, to see if I can get a warmer tone with carmine.
